Twenty-five years ago, a simple idea was born: a group of people coming together to serve the community. Today, we stand on the shoulders of that vision, celebrating a quarter-century of ministry, friendship, and impact here at Namirembe Cathedral (Luttiko) in Kampala, Uganda. We couldn’t have achieved so much without the active support from the Cathedral administration and the overwhelming faith of our congregation.
Our mission is to support the Cathedral Administration in improving service delivery to the congregation, with a vision to make the Cathedral the church of choice. Our motto is “The Servant Leader,” and we are held to a strict code of conduct, which requires exemplary behavior, integrity, honesty, and high moral standards.
Our group has grown far beyond what anyone imagined. With more than 100 active members and over 800 alumni who have passed through our doors, our story is a tapestry woven with countless memories and lives touched. Each person has played a vital role, whether they served for a season or a lifetime.
When we first began, we set out with a clear purpose, aiming to equip our volunteers with essential skills that would serve them both in their service and their lives. These skills included:
- Computer skills
- Public speaking
- Leadership training
- Problem-solving
- Entrepreneurial skills
- Customer care
As we approach our 25th anniversary in September, we’re filled with gratitude. We’re grateful for the late nights of planning, the shared laughter, and the rewarding moments of seeing our work make a real difference. This new website is our way of creating a permanent home for these stories and a new way to connect our ever-growing family.
We invite you to join us in celebrating this incredible journey. Stay tuned for more stories, event announcements, and ways to get involved as we commemorate this special milestone.
